Buffalo On Tap is back bigger and better this year with two sampling sessions on Saturday, January 17th at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center. Choose to attend from 1PM to 4PM (VIP Hoppy Hour Starts at 12PM) or 6PM to 9PM to sample over 150 releases from some of America’s best craft breweries. Plus hang out in an atmosphere filled with live music, delicious food available for purchase, and great vendors.

A passion for beer and a summer class on brewing science were two contributing factors in the creation of The 21st Amendment Brewery. The other two factors were Nico Freccia and Shaun O'Sullivan who both heard the calling of beer. 14 years after beginning production their award-winning brews include Brew Free! or Die IPA, Hell or High Watermelon Wheat, and Back in Black - Black IPA, to name a few.

Anchor is America’s first and oldest craft brewery, with roots dating back to the California gold rush. Today, our beers are handmade from an all-malt mash in our traditional copper brewhouse. Our process combines the time-honored art of classical craft brewing with carefully applied, state-of-the-art modern methods.
Founded in 1987, the Anderson Valley Brewing Company brewed out of a 10-barrel Brewhouse, located in the lower level of its brewpub, The Buckhorn Saloon. Today, the award-winning ales, with more than 47 recognitions, are produced in a state-of-the-art, three-story Bavarian-style Brewhouse, containing gleaming 100- and 85- barrel copper brew kettles as the centerpiece.
Angry Orchard brews crisp, refreshing hard cider. Their signature cider, is slightly sweet with a ripe apple flavor. The Green Apple cider has a bright, fresh apple aroma with notes of honeydew melon and kiwi. The Apple Ginger features a unique blend of ginger and apple flavors.
Ballantine Ale seeks out those looking for a heartier beer with pronounced hop flavor and higher alcohol content. Ale in nature, Ballantine touts an elevated alcohol level of 3.80% by weight and 4.85% by volume, all for the purpose of accommodating its hefty bitterness and aromatic hop character. “Dry-hopped” with the Cascade hop variety, Ballantine sports pronounced hop flavor and heavier mouth feel. Fermented at higher temperatures for that ‘ale’ likeness, Ballantine combines a lager’s best attributes with the smoothness of an ale.
Jack White founded Ballas Point in 1992 on the philosophy of always doing what he loves, and making beer that he loves. The company was named after something he loves almost as much as brewing, fishing. Today many of the beeres are named for fish or fishing terms, and the labels have fish on them as an homage to the brewery's origins and as a reminder to always do what you love.
Big Ditch Brewing Company is a microbrewery located in downtown Buffalo, NY that is dedicated to providing quality, delicious, innovative, and drinkable craft beers for the Buffalo area. Their name refers to the name given to the Erie Canal when it was first being constructed. The Canal started as an idea, but ultimately grew to become a project that put the great city of Buffalo on the map as one of the finest in the country. Their goal is to add to Buffalo’s history by helping to restore its brewing traditions back to their former prominence.
BlackBird Cider Works founder & cider maker, Scott Donovan, became interested in hard ciders after living in the beautiful Puget Sound area of Washington State and discovering the craft ciders of that region. Originally from Upstate New York, he returned to Rochester, NY in 2005 in order to fulfill his dream of establishing his own hard cidery. BlackBird Cider Works uses apples specially selected from their own orchard. The apples are pressed and the juice (also called must) is then fermented. After fermentation, the must is racked off into either an oak barrel or stainless steel tank for aging. Once the aging process is completed, their hard cider is bottled and finally ready for consumption.
At Blue Moon Brewing Company, everything they do flows from their artistic approach to brewing. It’s been that way ever since they first started brewing back in 1995. The Brewery has never had so many beers available in so many places. At last count, Brooklyn beers can be enjoyed in 25 states and 20 countries. At Brooklyn Brewery, we're as fond of the seasons of the Northeast as we are of the beers that accompany them.
Back in the 19th Century, Cooperstown was the epicenter of U.S. hop production. Add the local, deep wells of high quality water and you could say this place was made for beer. They built their brewery back in 1997 on 136 acres of land that used to be a hop farm. It was the first farmstead brewery built in the USA in over a hundred years.
Captain Lawrence Brewing Company began as a dream for 17-year old Scott Vaccaro when he brewed his first beer – Cranberry Celebration Ale – at home. Nearly 20 years and 24 different brews later, Vaccaro has successfully realized his dream. Many of Captain Lawrence's brews are strongly influenced by traditional Belgian ale styles, although often with an American twist.
Community Beer Works is Buffalo's first nanobrewery. The founders of the brewery all have roots in Buffalo, and wanted their brewery to be an integral part of the city and community. They donate spent grain to local farms, disposing of it in an ecologically friendly, mutually beneficial manner. Their goal is to foster a sense of community and place, enriching their hometown through the production of beer.
Dogfish is known for their Ancient Ales, brewed with the support of molecular archaeologists from the University of Pennsylvania. These beers, with recipes based on residue discovered in ancient tombs include Midas Touch, Chateau Jiahu, Theobroma & more. One of their most well-known lineup of beers is their India Pale Ales (IPAs), which are offered in a few varieties: 60 Minute, 90 Minute, 75 Minute and 120 Minute IPA. Their name of each of these beers refer to the length of the boil time of the wort in which the hops are continuously added. The longer hops are boiled, the more hop isomerization takes place, and the more bitterness is imparted to the beer.
EBC is considered one of the finest craft brewers in Western New York, and has received no less than three International World Beer Championship Awards. The Ellicottville Brewing Company is the result of the desire to open a family business. Inspiration struck during a ski trip to Vail, where other craft brewers began. There was the realization that Ellicottville, sometimes referred to as "the Aspen of the East", would be the perfect location for a craft brewery & grill. After 10 years of building a successful brewery & restaurant in Ellicottville, the team ventured to open a second location where they could build on their brewing & culinary talents. EBC West opened June 1st, 2005 in the fun-filled college town of Fredonia, home to SUNY Fredonia.

It is an American Amber Ale that features a large portion of ingredients that are grown in NY.
Innis & Gunn is a family-owned brewery based in Scotland. The beer was originally developed as a way of flavoring the barrels used by distiller William Grant for its ale cask reserve whiskey. The original plan was for the beer to be discarded after it had flavored the barrel, but the brewers noted that the process had an agreeable effect on the beer and the beer became the final product. Their "Original" beer is matured for 77 days from a blend of time in Bourbon Casks and Bourbon-infused heartwood.
Ithaca Beer Co. is a brewery started by one man with an idea. That man is Dan Mitchell and that idea was the Ithaca Beer Co. After years of perfecting our craft, Ithaca Beer is finally getting national attention for brewing good beer and gaining national distinction for their CascaZilla Red Ale, Flower Power IPA and Excelsior Brute.

The Lake Placid Pub & Brewery has been brewing award-winning ales and lagers for more than 17 years and has expanded rapidly due to its popularity and quality, earning the respect of the brewing community and national media attention. Over the years they have brewed almost 80 different styles of beer and brew almost 300,000 pints of beer annually.
Nestled in downtown Erie, PA, Lavery was founded in 2009. Their beers include Le Bealtaine American Wheat, Imperial French Ale, Belfast Black Smoked Porter, and the Devil's Pumpkin Ale to name a few. Their famous 1847 Rye Stout is a dry, bitter, Irish-style dark ale brewed with rye, munich, and roasted barley malts and massive amounts of Columbus hops and their seasonal house yeast.
The Leinenkugel Family Brewery was founded in Chippewa Falls, WI, in May 1867 by Jacob Leinenkugel. Today, the fifth generation of Leinenkugel's continue to brew the same family-inspired recipes. Over the years, the family has grown and so has the brewery, but its history and heritage remain at the forefront.
The first batch of Long Trail Ale rolled off the line in 1989. Andy Pherson, Long Trail's founder, embarked on a journey to brew an affordable, American-made alternative to the pricey German and English exports that filled store shelves. Long Trail Ale slowly weaved its way into the local Green Mountain landscape—becoming as much a Vermont tradition as the famed hiking trail itself.
The Magic Hat Brewery has been putting a performance into every bottle of beer since 1994. Today, the brewery cranks out 400 bottles of beer every minute. Magic Hat brews four year-round beers and several seasonal products and one-off batches.
McKenzie’s Hard Cider was founded in 2011 by Lenny Ciolek in Buffalo, New York. McKenzie’s currently produces 5 different varieties of hard cider; Original, Black Cherry, Green Apple, Seasonal Reserve (cinnamon and nutmeg) and Lazy Lemon (lemonade blend). Its varieties have received several awards including Double Gold Medal for Black Cherry, and Silver Medals for Original and Green Apple at the 2012 New York Wine & Food Classic.
Mill House Brewing Company opened in the Fall of 2013. Located in the rehabilitated Mill House, Mill House Brewing Company offers a warm, historic and visually appealing setting, casual, yet professional service, food cooked from as close to the source as possible, and artfully crafted ales. At Mill House Brewing Company, the philosophy is simple: provide a complete Hudson Valley dining experience, showcasing the region’s most delicious offerings of food, and beer.
Modelo is a large brewery in Mexico with a diverse product line. Negra Modelo first brewed in Mexico by Austrian immigrants, was introduced as a draft beer in 1926. The word "modelo" means example in Spainsh. Modelo light is a light lager that was first produced in 1994. Modelo Leon is a Munich-type dark amber colored beer, that mixes a sweetness with light bitterness, and a white foam.
The New Buffalo Brewing Company is a startup brewery founded in 2013. Their beers include the Saloon Boss Brown, a bold medium bodied brown ale mixed with bittersweet flavors of chocolate. The Iron Road IPA is a deep amber North Coast IPA with a complex base. Their staple beer, Steamfitters Stout, is a midnight black Irish stout full of roasted flavors with a thick mocha colored head.
Pacifico is a Mexican pisner-style beer first brewed in 1900 by three German settlers. Its unique packaging and distinctive taste made Pacifico a popular choice with American surfers who brought it into the U.S. and in 1985 Grupo Modelo began exporting Pacifico to the U.S. Its clean and hearty flavor makes Pacifico an exceptionally drinkable lager.
Pearl Street Brewery produces local favorites for the city of Buffalo. Trainwreck, their signature beer, is an amber ale made using German-style malts & hops. It's complex malt aroma and flavors evoke sweet bread, chocolate, and dry-roasted nuts all balanced by a slight spiciness from the hops. Lake Effect, is a classic east coast style pale ale with a considerable heft from the malts to balance out the heavy dose of hops.
Peak is a craft brewing company, dedicated to making delicious beer using local, artisan and organic ingredients. Peak is contributing to the craft beer movement with contemporary takes on traditional styles of beer, and innovative flavors that have never been brewed before. In 2009, Peak helped Maine farmers cultivate organic commercial hops, the first such harvest since 1880.
Brewed in Italy to the original recipe since 1963, Peroni Nastro Azzurro exemplifies the traditions of Italian craftsmanship, passion and flair upon which it was formed. Peroni is a pale lager sold worldwide. Peroni's premium lager, Nastro Azzurro is world-renowned.
Pilsner Urquell is lager founded in 1842 in Germany, now produced in the Czech Republic. It is the worl'ds first pilsner beer. Made with Saaz hops, a noble hop variety which is a key element in its flavor profile, as is the use of soft water and fire-brewing. Urquell means the ancient source in Czech.
Pyramid Breweries owns and operates breweries in Seattle, Berkeley, Portland, and Walnut Creek. Their beers include a dry-hopped IPA, an apricot ale, and thunderhead IPA. The thunderbird IPA has a golden nectar with a striking floral aroma, holding a balance between its bold hop bitterness and sublte malt backbone.

The Matt Brewery has produced thirty different beers in its Saranac line over the past two decades, which include Adirondack Lager, Black & Tan, Pale Ale, Black Forest, IPA, Lager, and a seasonal Belgian White. Shock Top is a traditional Belgian-Style wheat ale. It was originally created in 2006 as a seasonal brew under the name Spring Heat Spiced Wheat. After collecting gold in ’06 and bronze in ’07 in the Belgian White category at the North American Beer Awards, we decided to brew year-round and switch the name to Shock Top. We couldn’t be happier with our decision.

All Woodchuck ciders are naturally gluten free because the product is made from apples only, without any grains. The company sells several types of award-winning cider under the Woodchuck name, including core flavors, limited releases which are sold at particular times of year, private reserves which are produced in limited batches, and "farmhouse select" which is produced in small batches and sold in 750ml bottles.
